Born in Champagne, Jérôme understood from an early age that he was destined for a life in wine.
After a degree in Viticulture and Enology from the Enology Faculty of Reims, he seized the opportunity to join familial and famous Maisons’ winemaking teams in Champagne: first with Champagne Pierlot-Fils, then with Moët & Chandon. During this first experience, he worked with renowned winemakers and growers who instilled in him their passion for fine-tuning, respect of terroir and sense of detail.
Then in 2012, Jérôme moved to California to participate in the 2012 harvest and played with Burgundy and Bordeaux grape varieties in the Napa Valley, which opened his mind to different ways of dealing with wine.
He then returned to France to work for a small organic Champagne House, where he learned new techniques in environmental protection and sustainability. When he was offered a position at Krug, the House for which he had always dreamed to work, he did not hesitate and joined as winemaker.
Jérôme joined Krug in June 2013. He is in charge of the Clos du Mesnil and he is a permanent member of Krug’s Tasting Committee, led by Chef de Caves Eric Lebel.
