While Champagne holds its place as the world leader in sparkling wine production, the rest of the planet has been busily catching up.  Increasingly, American market share is divided amidst high-quality sparkling wines from Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria and the US. (Just don’t call them Champagne!)

Patrick Comiskey, lead wine writer for the Los Angeles Times among many other publications, joined Effervescence to lead an examination of international sparkling wines sourced from around the globe.  From Italian winners like prosecco, moscato and Franciacorta bubblies to sensational Spanish cava and top-notch American sparklers, there’s a growing world of sparkling wines to be discovered and at all price-points too.
